Zulu Camp at Shambala Game Reserve
Shambala Game Reserve is situated in the picturesque central region of the Waterberg mountain range, northwest of Johannesburg and Pretoria (approximately 2 ½ hour drive by car). It enjoys a sub-tropical climate and it is pleasantly temperate for most of the year. In this idyllic setting, Shambala Game Reserve epitomizes Paradise on Earth. It covers almost 12,000 hectares of natural landscape in South Africa's Limpopo Province and is home to the Big Five, the leopard, lion, elephant, black rhino and buffalo.
Zulu Camp offers guests the experience of a lifetime, staying in traditional honeycomb-shaped chalets in the heart of the bushveld, with streams from the nearby river running through the camp. From early morning until dusk the air is filled with the echoing birdcalls, emphasizing the uniqueness of being part of the natural surroundings.
Each chalet is furnished and decorated in chic Afro-French Provincial style, with its own refreshing outdoor shower. A campfire is lit every evening in the open lapa area, and our guests can dine overlooking the shore of the river. Zulu Camp offers its guests an unforgettable experience in the most idyllic bushveld setting with the river running through the camp and awaking to the plaintive calls of the fish eagles.
