1) How many rooms / beds does your hotel have?
Sofitel Rio de Janeiro Copacabana is located at the most famous address in town: Atlantic Avenue, on a stretch of the street where you have the best view of Copacabana beach and it is only 15 minutes away from Santos Dumont, the domestic airport. The hotel is also in walking distance from the famous neighborhood of Ipanema, the birthplace of Bossa Nova. It is also one of the only hotels that have balconies on all of the 388 apartments/suites; all have air conditioning, and most of them have a view unlike no other of Copacabana beach.
2) Which room(s) would you recommend for the wedding night or honeymoon and what is special bout it?
The Prestige Suite, with 70m2;, composed of a living room and a bedroom, has an oceanfront view with balcony and a right to use the services of the Sofitel Club Millésime, a new concept for those who seek exclusivity and excellence. The rooms have contemporary technological facilities like a 32” LCD TV and Nespresso coffee-maker – in all the suites and apartments with Sofitel Club Millésime services – and 26” LCD TV’s in the other apartments, DVD, Wi-Fi system, cd player, MP3 clock radio, dock station, air conditioning, mini bar, hair dryer, electronic safe and L’Occitane amenities.
Sofitel Rio de Janeiro Copacabana also offers a Wedding Package - for all suites, including the amazing Imperial Suite, with 220 m2; - which includes breakfast in the room, special bed linen, champagne and chocolate selection and a surprise wedding gift for the couple.

The hotel was built in 1979 and Sofitel has been managing since 1996.

Sofitel Rio de Janeiro Copacabana is located next the famous Copacabana and Ipanema beaches and 15 minutes away from the Sugar Loaf. Ideal for special occasions and celebrations, the hotel’s haute french cuisine restaurant, Le Pré Catelan offers a sophisticated ambience. In the menu prepared by the award-winning chef, Roland Villard, recipes such as the Amazon Menu are unmissable. In addition, there are more than 100 French labels on the restaurant’s wine list.
b) which clubs / festivals / parties / discotheques would you most?
Our Concierge, members of the Les Clefs D’Or - the International Association of Concierges - would be more than happy to help the couple with a personalized schedule to enjoy Rio de Janeiro to the most.
c) which weeks of the year usually have the lowest price because of low season?
Sofitel Rio de Janeiro Copacabana’s low season varies between January, May to September and December.
5) Can you tell us something about the options and capacities to have a wedding reception (and maybe the wedding dancing party as well) in your hotel and / or in another venue without hotel beds in your surroundings?
A modern and wide area with capacity to hold between 50 and 1500 people simultaneously. There are 2.300m2; of events area, distributed in 10 modulated salons, 1 foyer, of 750m2; and high ceilings. The menu is tailor-made by the couple and signed by the renowned chef Roland Villard.
6) Is it possible to have a legal and / or ceremonial wedding at your property (or at a special place in your surroundings)?
Yes, under the couple’s responsibility.
